Header and footer
The header and footer provide navigation shared across the site. Edit them from Header & footer in the site workspace, then preview their appearance on more than one page.
Set header navigation
Choose the language you are editing. Add navigation links with labels that describe the destination. A link can point to a page record or to a URL.
For pages on your site, select the page destination when appropriate. Review the destination after moving or archiving content. Reorder the links to reflect how customers usually look for information.
The header can also include a main action, such as contacting your business. Give it a clear label and a destination that matches the promise. The site’s logo and logo size are managed in Settings.
Organize the footer
Use footer information for a short business description or useful contact context. Organize related links into columns, and put policies or other secondary destinations in the bottom row. Review the copyright text separately from the page body.
A footer is still navigation. Use informative labels, keep addresses and contact details current, and check the destinations rather than treating the footer as a place to duplicate every link on the site.
Review each language
Translate the header and footer text for the languages you publish. Link labels should be understandable in that language, and destinations should lead to the appropriate content.
Shared navigation and translated pages are separate records. Adding a translation of a service page does not replace the need to review the navigation that leads to it.
Preview and publish
Save the changes, then open Preview. Check the header at a narrow width, follow the main action, and inspect the footer on a short and a long page. Keyboard navigation should make the active link easy to identify.
Resolve any references to missing or archived pages before publishing. Choose Publish to release the saved header and footer changes with the rest of the site draft.
