Languages and translations
Wirechunk keeps each page’s language version as editable content and connects related pages through a translation group. Forms and navigation have localized text within their shared records.
Add a website language
Open Settings and find Website languages. Set the base language, then add other languages using language codes such as es or fr-CA. Review the URL prefix assigned to each additional language.
The prefix is part of public page addresses. Choose it before sharing links widely. Changing a language or prefix later requires checking the affected pages and links.
Translate pages and posts
Create the related language version of a page or ask the AI to prepare it. Keep related versions in the same translation group, with one page per language in that group. Review the title, body, path, metadata, and image descriptions.
The translated text can be edited independently. Changing the source page does not automatically prove that every translation is current. When services, prices, or contact details change, review each affected version.
Translate the inquiry experience
Open the form and review its localized title, instructions, labels, choices, error messages, submission button, and confirmation. A form used on a page needs text for that page’s language.
Field identifiers connect the translations to the same data structure and delivery mappings. Preserve those identifiers when changing labels. A translated label should change what the visitor reads without turning an existing integration mapping into a different question.
Review Header & footer for each language, including navigation labels and destinations.
Keep shared facts accurate
The site’s organization record contains shared business information. Use it for consistent facts and review any repeated facts in page prose. Specify the languages available for customer follow-up separately from the languages of the website.
Check and publish
Preview each language and follow the path from a service page to its form. Check the language switcher and verify that linked pages exist. Readiness and publication validation can identify missing references and form localizations, but a person should review the meaning of the translations.
Publish the saved draft after correcting errors. Wirechunk generates language markup and alternate-language links for the published content.
