Connect analytics and track form submissions
You can add Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or Google Tag Manager using the site’s script settings. Wirechunk also records its own site activity and emits a browser event when a form submission is saved.
Add a tracking script
- Obtain the installation code from your analytics account.
- Open Settings → Scripts in the site workspace.
- Place the script in the location required by the provider: the start of the head, start of the body, or end of the body.
- Save and publish the site.
- Use the provider’s verification tools on the published site.
Avoid installing the same tracker directly and again through Tag Manager. Review your consent and privacy setup before enabling the tracking you intend to use.
Track a successful browser submission
The published site emits wirechunk:form-submitted after it saves a form. The form editor includes Connect forms to tracking, with an example you can adapt for your tracking setup.
A minimal Tag Manager bridge is:
window.addEventListener('wirechunk:form-submitted', (event) => {
window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || [];
window.dataLayer.push({
event: 'form_submitted',
form_id: event.detail.formId,
});
});
In Tag Manager, create a Custom Event trigger named form_submitted and connect the tags you want it to run. Use the stable form ID when a report should distinguish forms.
The event contains additional data, including submitted fields. Send only the values your measurement needs; form fields can contain personal information.
Understand what the reports count
Browser analytics depend on scripts running in the browser. A remote MCP submission does not run your browser tracking script. WebMCP submissions made through the published browser page can emit the form event.
Use Form entries to review saved inquiries and Activity for Wirechunk’s recorded HTML, Markdown, public-tool, and form activity. HTML requests are not a count of unique human visitors: software can request HTML too.
Compare the reports according to what each records. A browser page view, a tool request, a form entry, and a delivery to your CRM are different events.
