Agents on your published website
A published Wirechunk site provides content formats and public tools that customer agents can use. These interfaces operate on the public release of the site.
Read content
Agents can read normal HTML pages or request Markdown from the same URL using the Accept: text/markdown header. For example:
curl -H 'Accept: text/markdown' https://your-domain.example/services
The site also publishes an llms.txt directory, a sitemap, and discovery links for its public interfaces. These help a client locate the content and tools once it is working with the website.
Connect to public tools
The remote MCP endpoint is:
https://your-domain.example/api/mcp
Public tools also have HTTP routes described by https://your-domain.example/openapi.json. The published browser page registers tools through WebMCP when the browser exposes that interface.
The tools cover site search, public business information, and the site’s published inquiry forms. Search returns matching page URLs and excerpts. Form tools describe the fields the agent can submit and return a confirmation after a successful submission.
Configure the content and forms
Keep service details and shared business information accurate. In each form’s agent settings, use a clear tool name and purpose. Review field descriptions, required inputs, and the confirmation shown after submission.
An agent should submit a form when the customer wants to send it. The site’s public form tools can create inquiries; they do not grant access to edit pages, inspect private entries, or change billing.
Test a published workflow
Connect a client to the public MCP endpoint and ask it to search for an answer available on the site. Follow the returned URL and verify the information. To test a form, use a clearly labeled test inquiry and check its record and delivery status.
Draft previews do not accept real submissions or run public tools. Publish the reviewed version before testing the full interaction.
To let an agent work on the website itself, connect it to the authenticated Wirechunk management interface.
